Two nights ago I waited on the Lord and asked Him to speak to me . He told me “don’t look back, like Lots wife”
I live in Melbourne, Victoria in Australia. While the rest of my country has quashed covid-19, here in Melbourne it is running amok amongst the community and the aged care facilities. We are suffering under the weight of heavy restrictions that are costing jobs, hope and lives. What they don’t advertise is the number of suicides as a consequence of our second lockdown in a few months. Today our state government will be announcing stage 4 restrictions. I don’t know what that will mean for our jobs, my kids education etc. But I know my God and I know He is faithful. I trust Him and I praise Him anyway.
Why Melbourne? Why are we facing such a heavy judgement. Of all states in Australia Victoria is the most wicked. We are the only state where late term abortion has been legal for many years, where there is a safe injecting room, where Christian Religious Ed has been outlawed in public schools, where it is now legal to change your gender on your birth certificate with no surgery required. This is allowed even up to once per year! The only state where medical marijuana is legalized, euthanasia became legal one year ago….the list goes on. God has to judge, our wickedness is heaped up to the heavens and there is an outcry against our state.
As the Body of Christ He is trying to get our attention. He is separating us from every thing in this world that we cling to, rely on, trust in. As we see His judgment upon our own city unfold before our eyes we must listen to Him and let go of everything of the world and cling only to Him. He is our only hope now, our refuge , our strength in times of trouble. We must not “look back”, long for, the things of the world that have for so long captured our hearts .

16 When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them. 17 As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!”

Yes, the news of your COVID-19 situation is known here in Canada. It sets us on alert because we are loosening the restrictions, and as difficult as the restrictions are, some of us have a concern that we move be opening up too quickly. Yet in Christ we have hope. I continue to provide chapel services by video at a retirement residence for seniors. It will a real reunion of joy when I am allowed to return in person, but no word has come out yet on that.

Hi NoPew. Thanks for the update of your situation. As of yesterday we are now in stage 4 restrictions with many businesses having to shut down tomorrow for 6 weeks. I fear many will never reopen. We are only allowed out for one hour exercise a day and one per home to get essentials. We have an 8pm curfew.
I understand the severity of the virus but also wonder if the severity of the restrictions is necessary. We are losing a lot of young people to suicide. Just having to put our hope in Christ as you say. This world has nothing left to hold to. Bless you and keep well

New York City is being destroyed from within by wicked politicians: the mayor of NYC and the governor of New York. The wealthy are leaving NYC in droves; there are now 13,000 apartments that are now vacant. Over a year ago, New York state passed a law that says you can now abort a baby on the day that baby is born. The Lord sees all of this wickedness: He puts the wicked in power for a reason–so that the wicked can destroy the wicked.

It’s interesting you talk about many people leaving New York. For the first time we are having to consider leaving our state. Which breaks my heart. I would like your opinion Tim. Do you think once we have reached a certain point of wickedness that now it is just judgment going forward? Or do you still think there’s hope of revival?

I look at the Democrat-run cities in the United States that are being destroyed by leftist rioters: when the wicked are constantly being voted into power over many years, the Lord gives them over to a reprobate mind and then, eventually, the wicked destroy the wicked.
Remember the video of the two Christian men who were preaching in downtown Portland, Oregon back in 2016? The hate speech thrown at them by unbelievers was horrible. Maybe that was the Lord’s final warning to Portland to repent of their sin. Now look at Portland: another Sodom and Gomorrah. Maybe after more destruction there will be a revival or maybe Portland will turn into another third world country. Some people have described Seattle and San Francisco as being third world countries because of left wing politicians.
About New York. Back in around 2005, I was hitchhiking out somewhere in West Virginia and this guy from New York picked me up. He said that he was thinking of moving out of New York because they were passing these ungodly laws. Then a few years later, I met this guy in Nebraska who would fly out to NYC and do street ministry. He met these two prophets who said that the Lord told them to leave NYC because people weren’t repenting. Just over a year ago, I was hitchhiking in Wyoming and this guy picked me up and let me stay with he and his wife overnight. He said that the Lord began showing him ten years ago to leave New York state. So finally he left a couple of years ago and moved to Wyoming.
I think it is interesting that in all of these years of hitchhiking, I have hitchhiked more through Montana, Idaho and Wyoming than any other place. Maybe Montana, Idaho and Wyoming are places of refuge for Christians. It has been many, many years since I hitchhiked through Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Minneapolis, NYC and other cities that are now being destroyed from within.
I remember back in 2018, right before I hitchhiked out of California (I used to work for some friends in northern California from time to time over the years), the Lord told me that I wasn’t coming back to California. The state of California has some of the worst virus lockdowns in the United States, but not as bad as Victoria, Australia.

Tim when I read your reply the Holy Spirit moved on me in a huge way and suddenly all the confusion and distress left. I can see now. It’s exactly as you say, everything you wrote witnessed in my spirit and it was like I already knew it deep down but it was all brought out. All the scriptures the Lord has led me to lately confirm it. Thank you thank you thank you. And thank You Jesus my Lord and my Life. I will follow You to the ends of the earth.

Now THAT is a very good question. I think that in all of my years of hitchhiking around the United States and in all of the years that High Plains Drifter has been available via manuscript, book, Internet Archive or blog, no one has ever asked that question.
I named my book High Plains Drifter after Clint Eastwood’s film High Plains Drifter (1973). I don’t know how many times I have seen that film. I absolutely identify with the main character played by Eastwood (the Stranger) who rides into town and kills some bad guys and then burns the town to the ground.
The Stranger in the film at one time was the town marshal: he was whipped to death by some bad guys who were paid by the owners of the local mining operation. To me, it reminds me of the death of Jesus Christ. There is a scene in the film where the townspeople are having a meeting at the local church and you see this Bible verse on the bulletin board: Isaiah 53: 3-4. The town marshal was rejected by the townspeople and then killed; I have been rejected by family, friends and church people because of my testimony, so I have been alone most of my life (that’s why I identify with the Stranger in the film).

No not overkill at all , thank you for answering my question.
Two things have stood out to me. One where you said in your short story that you like wide open spaces. And two , hitchhiking you are on the fringes of society.
I’ll tell you why I asked you that question. Last night I was praying. Praying about what to do. It’s so hard here now. Can you imagine , you who like open spaces, that we are in home prison now for 23 hours a day. Allowed out for one hour of exercise or one of us is allowed to go get essentials. And our Premier has extended this lockdown for an indefinite period till we get to less than 5 cases. I am now convinced he is a madman, full of demons.
Of course I am not sticking to these ridiculous rules. I’m doing what God leads me to. My husband and I have been running an underground church in our home for months, because church is now banned. We have mainly men come, those who’ve just left rehab and prison and we sing and praise and read the Word. They park up the road and walk to our house in the dark and sneak in one by one. It’s the only thing that’s kept me going during this dark time.
So I’m praying last night and the Lord takes me to a cliff top and we look down together over a dusty plain where there is dirty, tattooed , fighting people. He has shown me this before. A few weeks ago He showed me it and said “this is the land I am giving you”.
But last night He just showed me it again and I thought how we were on a high plain looking out over.
Then your book title from nowhere came into my head “High Plains Drifter”.
And I felt to ask you why.
The fringes of society, the outcasts us who God has called us to. It has always been them. We can never fit in a church. We fit with the homeless and mentally ill and drug addicts. No one else I know is doing anything at the moment. all the churches are quiet and obediently closed and it makes me sick and angry.
I love your Shiloh poem, wow. The line about Cain bludgeoning Abel to death….
Anyway I am going to buy your book, it’s on Amazon yes?

I think it is VERY interesting that you asked about the title of my book on a post that has the title “Remember Lot’s Wife”. If you watch Clint Eastwood’s High Plains Drifter, at the end of the film, the Stranger burns the town of Lago to the ground (God’s Wrath). The Scripture “remember Lot’s wife” is alluding to the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah by fire and brimstone (God’s Wrath). So maybe eventually the Lord will lead you out of Melbourne into the wide open spaces (the Outback?) before God’s Wrath hits Melbourne ?. You are led by the Holy Ghost; the Lord will reveal to you what you need to do.

I am glad that you liked that chapter. I remember that time back in 1998 when I was in San Luis Obispo, California. I stayed in a motel one night and then I slept outside on the side of this hill the next night. I was in this Burger King having a meal and for some reason I began to think of northern New Mexico (I worked on an apple farm in New Mexico back in 1986). Then all of a sudden the Holy Ghost fell on me very heavy, so I knew that the Lord wanted me to go to New Mexico.
So I was hitchhiking in New Mexico and that guy named Israel gave me a ride. Then the next day, that pastor preached about Jacob wrestling with the angel and then the angel named him Israel. It was quite a trip. When you are led by the Holy Ghost, your life is never boring, let me tell you.
When you are led by the Holy Ghost, your life looks a bit crazy. I thought at times that all of that hitchhiking was crazy. But usually some God-thing or something profound would happen virtually every day, so I knew that the Lord was in the hitchhiking. I knew that the Lord protected me and provided for me in my travels.
So why did the Lord have me hitchhike all those years? I talked to a lot of people about my Christian faith. Intercession was a big part. I was taking up my cross and following the Lord which helped to break curses off of my life and I was delivered of many demons (I am still being delivered of demons). The devil hates a life that is dead to self. Also, hitchhiking was simply obedience to the Lord: when we enter the Kingdom of Heaven, our life is obedience unto the Lord: “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven”.

Hi Tim, I have just finished reading chapter 9 of your book. It struck me that God was training you to be led by the Spirit. That your life was /is a literal representation (like Ezekiels was) of how God wants to lead us and how we are to respond. We think to go East but we don’t get a ride so we go west and immediately God sends a ride. The children of Israel had to get their feet wet before the Jordan River parted.
You will hear a voice behind you say this is the way, walk ye in it.
To be so trained by the Spirit, to be sensitive to Him, this is it. This is everything . Just some thoughts that have struck me reading your book.

Amen. I was definitely led by the Holy Ghost as I hitchhiked the United States.
Hitchhiking, also, was fasting and prayer. A lot of people think of fasting as fasting from food. Fasting can also mean fasting from a former lifestyle: I used to work at a lumber yard back in Iowa before I started to hitchhike. I would get odd jobs here and there on the road, but most of the time, I really had to put my trust in the Lord for Him to provide for me, protect me and find a place for me to sleep. Working at the lumber yard or working for that construction company was a vacation compared to hitchhiking.
Remember when Jesus said that these (demons) can only come out through fasting and prayer?(Mark 9:29) So many curses were broken off of me while I was hitchhiking around the country; I was delivered of so many demons while hitchhiking. Why? Hitchhiking was fasting and prayer and hitchhiking was taking up my cross and following the Lord. The cross is death to self-will. Demons hate a selfless body; demons love a selfish, sinful body.
In hitchhiking, I met many people on the road and talked to many people about my faith in Jesus Christ. My hitchhiking also reminded me of when the Lord told Isaiah to walk naked and barefoot in Egypt as a witness against them (Isaiah 20:3). Even if I was not able to talk to people on the road, my hitchhiking was a powerful witness of my obedience to the Lord. Obedience is an end in itself. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done.

Sorry, Belinda, I just noticed your comment a few moments ago.
There is no doubt that President Trump won the 2020 election in a landslide. During the campaign, President Trump would pack football stadiums with his supporters; Joe Biden would have maybe ten or fifteen people at his rallies. I believe that the Lord set a trap for the Democrats and their election fraud and He used President Trump as bait.

They even said, then Kamala might die and Obama be actions president again ! They were so excited about two people dying. Truly evil.
