The Man in the Gap

The Man in the Gap - Acrylic on canvas

The Man in the Gap – Acrylic on canvas

Who can find a man to stand in the gap?

Where is he today?

He is hidden

He is not seen

He is behind the veil

Of what is seen with the natural eye

A hidden work

A secret mission

Not on stages

Not applauded

No recognition

No fame

Nothing

From this world

Is his

But him and Christ

Together

Behind the veil

One

That is his work

That is his joy

That is his life

May we be willing to join with Jesus and lay down our lives for the work of intercession!

God bless,

Belinda

I Believe in Brokenness

hisloveThis vessel

broken by

anxiety

depression

This vessel

broken by

persecution

rejection

This vessel had been hard,

callous

and full of Self

But this vessel needed to be

used

and taken from the shelf

God knew it would take

some major breaking,

even some smashing-

For the Self-life

to be conquered

’twas so secure there

in its bastion

And oh I’m glad He did

that He cared enough for me

to take me and break me

From Self to set me free

It hurt, it killed

at times too hard to bear

but my God – He did it

For Himself He had to share

You May Not Like it, But I’m Gonna Say it

We seem to have forgotten that

It’s all about Jesus.

All of it.

He is the centre of it all.

It breaks my heart that I can now visit a church and not hear His Name even mentioned.church now

Bono is mentioned.

A new Christian super-star leader is mentioned

Mother Theresa and even Buddha may be quoted

(How very relevant and emergent of you)

But where is Jesus?

He who is the Door, is now outside the door.

Jesus is unfashionable in His own church:whoever

Truly the Father’s heart is grieved

The worst part?

Nobody even notices

They’re so busy laughing at the Pastor’s jokes

Busy building up their Christian reputations,

Their earthly kingdoms

Busy gettin’ known in Churchianity

Nobody cares

That the Body is dead if there is no Head

Oh yes,

There is a Body,

An eternal, living, breathing, organic, victorious Body

Of which Christ is Head!

But it is not thererob bell

Not where Jesus is forgotten

Dismissed, cast out

Not where people are ashamed of His Name

And His Word

(Funnily enough, there is no shame in distorting and abusing it

In order to compel the flock to “tithe”

There is a business to run after-all)

Where are you Jesus?

My Lord and My God

You are not there.

He who has eyes of fire

Would vomit that out of His mouth

There He is!

He is outside the camp

Always

I wonder who is willing to go to Him there?

Who is willing to let go of Christianized kingdoms?

Christians being crucified by ISIS

Christians being crucified by ISIS

Who is willing to forgo Christian-fame?

Who is willing to lose friends for Him?

Who is willing to be considered a crack-pot for Him?

Who is willing to go outside the camp

To bear with Him His reproach?

This will be the test of the Christian in these the last days.

What is it you are after?

What do you really want?

Is it Christ Jesus Himself?cross

Not a ministry, not a creed, not an organisation,

Not structure, not even Christianity

But Him, the Person

At the end of it all,

That’s what it comes down to.

There is nothing else

But Him

Missionary Quotations – Amy Carmichael4

amy carm

Amy Carmichael opened an orphanage and founded a mission in Dohnavur. She served in India for 55 years without furlough

“Give me the Love that leads the way
The Faith that nothing can dismay
The Hope no disappointments tire
The Passion that’ll burn like fire
Let me not sink to be a clod
Make me Thy fuel, Flame of God”

This is my Beloved, and This is my Friend

Drawn August 2015. Pencil/pastel

Drawn August 2015. Pencil/pastel

He is chief among ten thousand

His head is like finest gold

His body is carved ivory

With sapphires laid in the mould

This King of kings

This Lord of lords

Surely none can compare

Yet who may be this blessed one

To Him who is “All Fair”?

This is the Bride He’s purchased

With His own spotless blood

There is no blemish in her

She’s made perfect in holy Love

The Heavenly Storehouse is opened

To provide a bridal dress

Precious stones to adorn

Sapphire, emerald and amethyst

She will be made ready

And will watch for Him and wait

For the King will not tarry long

Time is getting late

(Based on Song of Solomon)

100 Years From Now

It will not make much difference, friend, a hundred years from now11219593_10152932989958261_4896805221278485865_n

If you live in a stately mansion or on a river scow;
If the clothes you wear are tailor-made or pieced together somehow,
If you eat big steaks or beans and cake …

A hundred years from now.

It won’t matter your bank account or the make of car you drive,
For the grave will claim all riches and fame and the things for which you strive.

There’s a deadline that we all must meet and no one will be late.
It won’t matter then all the places you’ve been, each one will keep that date.

We will only have in eternity – what we gave away on earth,
When we go the grave, we can only save the things of eternal worth.
What matters, friend, the earthly gain for which some men always bow?
For your destiny will be sealed, you see … a hundred years from now.

The Door is Beginning to Close

The Age of Grace is nearing its end.The-door-is-closing-courtesy-brad-montgomery-at-Flickr-CC-e1325010017923

It’s time to get on board the Ark.

There is a storm approaching

A big one.

When God shuts that door

No man can open it again,

Quick get in now/There’s not much time left.

The ones already in the Ark:

Preachers of righteousness,

Just like Noah,

Warn the others

Of the coming storm

They can see it

It’s on the horizon now

“Come, come!

Flee from the wrath that is to come!”

But this time it is not a rain cloud

NO, it’s a fire-storm

A fire so hot that the elements

Will melt with fervent heat

The Day of the Lord is at hand

Forget your possessions

Your reputation

Your position

There’s no time anymore

Leave it all behind

It’s all gonna be burned by fire

Anyway

Flee to the Ark

Redeem the time,

For there’s not much left

Noah’s Ark is an Old Testament picture of Jesus Christ. Read how so here.
