” Have I been so long time with thee,
and yet hast thou not known Me?”
“O my Master, I have known Thee
On the roads of Galilee.”
“Have I been so long time with thee
On the roads of Galilee,
Yet, My child, hast thou not known Me
Walking on the tossing sea?”
O My Master, I have known Thee
On the roads and on the sea”.
“Wherefore then hast thou not known Me
Broken in Gethsemane?
“I would have thee follow, know Me
Thorn-crowned, nailed upon the Tree.
Canst thou follow, wilt thou know Me,
All the way to Calvary?”

“The new cross does not slay the sinner, it redirects him. It gears him into a cleaner and jollier way of living and saves his self-respect. To the self-assertive it says, ‘Come and assert yourself for Christ.’ To the egotist it says, ‘Come and do your boasting in the Lord.’ To the thrill seeker it says, ‘Come and enjoy the thrill of Christian fellowship.’ The Christian message is slanted in the direction of the current vogue in order to make it acceptable to the public.”
“The old cross is a symbol of death. It stands for the abrupt, violent end of a human being. The man in Roman times who took up his cross and started down the road had already said good-by to his friends. He was not coming back. He was going out to have it ended. The cross made no compromise, modified nothing, spared nothing; it slew all of the man, completely and for good. It did not try to keep on good terms with its victim. It struck cruel and hard, and when it had finished its work, the man was no more.”

Belinda: I just discovered this book yesterday. It is an audio book: HITCHHIKING ON PURPOSE by George Watmough. He hitchhiked all over the United States preaching the Gospel. Watmough hitchhiked back in the 1930s, 40s, 50s and maybe into the 60s. His book is very inspiring and edifying. Just thought you would like to take a look at it.

I am doing very well. I am still working at a restaurant. I read a lot, watch a lot of documentaries and listen to my audio Bible. I like to take walks in the hills near where I live. I hope your family is doing well. Take care.
