“It was strictly forbidden to preach to other prisoners, as it is in captive nations today. It was understood that whoever was caught doing this received a severe beating. A number of us decided to pay the price for the privilege of preaching, so we accepted their terms. It was a deal: we preached and they beat us. We were happy preaching; they were happy beating us – so everyone was happy.”

Love this Wurmbrand quote. He was a great man, and one I greatly respect, as a former Voice of the Martyrs Area Representative. He also said, “A man really believes not what he recites in his creed, but only the things he is ready to die for.” We need more people with that kind of faith today. So glad I came across your page. Looking forward to following your blog. May God bless you.

Wow, thanks Peg! I totally agree with you, and I LOVE that quote. It is absolutely what I believe. It reminds me of something Leonard Ravenhill said – “Are the things you’re living for worth Christ dying for?”
Where is this challenging, convicting faith today…? God bless you
