“Not called!” did you say? “Not heard the call,” I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father’s house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not come there. Then look Christ in the face — whose mercy you have professed to obey — and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world.”

Wow. Was listening to a Michael Card song, Poem of your Life, which beckons us to open our ‘earlids’ to God’s call. Reckon some of have some very heavy earlids. Thanks for sharing. I’d recommend a biography of the Booths’ as great inspiration.

Thank you. I would love to read about the Booths’, what an amazing couple! I do have a booklet written by Catherine Booth but the thought has often crossed my mind to find the biography. I am inspired by your comment to actually go and do it now!

Great. The one I read was in a series in our church library, about a variety of different missionaries. Not sure of the title. Will have a look tomorrow.

By the way, that song you mentioned sounds very appropriate, I will have to look it up. Another wonderful song along this line is “Tears of the Saints” by Leeland. Makes me cry every time. God bless

I listened to the Michael Card song you recommended. It is beautiful, the lyrics are so poetic. The music reminded me a little of Robin Mark’s music, which I LOVE. God bless you and thanks for the recommendation. B

Thank you for your latest Blogs. After feeling I was ‘too confronting” at church today – I can see that God wants us to give everything to Him, and if that means that we confront others sometimes, it just has to be so.
